Thousands of people have left words in ink
Leaving imprints on the way we think
Some texts tell the story of a little blue man in jewels who rules all gods
Revered by many in Eastern lands against all odds
Some other sacred texts tells the story of an eternal bliss called Eden
But before you stop at paradise, your soul must be cleansed once or twice
Feel the flames, feel the burn
But only for a moment, you’re being reborn
The thought of hell makes you shudder
So we read of ideas or another
The souls who cannot endure the cleansing because they were marred and evil
Will simply vanish
Disappear
Never to reincarnate
Never again to reappear
Other sacred stories tells the story of God, prophets, Muhammad, Allah and even mentions Jesus as merely a prophet
Covered from head to toe, many choose modesty over the exposed
Of course, this isn’t just in this religion as we all know
Another sacred text speaks of eternal flames and a man on a Cross
Who lived, died and rose again
A humbling thought
But not all souls who wander are lost
Take it or leave it, these are my thoughts
So many beliefs to pick and choose from
Sadly, we really can only choose just one
